Choosing the right size can make a big difference in how your hoop feels, flows, and responds to your movements. We offer our hoops in a variety of different diameters, giving you the freedom to choose the size that best matches your experience and hooping style.

An important note: our hoop sizes are always the outside diameter (OD) of the hoop.

Which Size Is Right for Me?

32" — Faster & More Responsive

Best for: Experienced hoopers, faster flow, tricks, and off-body movements.

Our 32" hoop has the smallest diameter of our three available sizes. The smaller size allows the hoop to move more quickly, making it a great choice for hoopers who prefer faster movements or already have experience controlling a hoop.

Choose 32" if you:

• Have previous hooping experience
• Prefer faster flow
• Perform more hand and off-body tricks
• Want a smaller, more responsive hoop

34" — The Versatile Choice

Best for: A balance between control and maneuverability.

Not sure which size to choose? The 34" hoop falls right in the middle of our size range and offers a great combination of speed, control, and versatility.

It provides a little more room than the 32" while remaining maneuverable enough for a wide variety of movements.

Choose 34" if you:

• Want a versatile all-around hoop
• Have some hooping experience
• Enjoy a combination of on-body and off-body flow
• Want a balance between speed and control

36" — More Room & More Control

Best for: Beginners, waist hooping, and slower flow.

A larger diameter gives the hoop more room to travel around your body and generally creates a slower, more forgiving rotation. This can make the 36" size easier to control when you're learning or practicing waist hooping.

Choose 36" if you:

• Are newer to hooping
• Primarily want to waist hoop
• Prefer slower, more controlled flow
• Want the largest size we currently offer

How We Measure Our Hoops

Hoop sizes refer to the diameter of the hoop — the distance straight across the center of the circle.

32" Hoop: 32 inches across
34" Hoop: 34 inches across
36" Hoop: 36 inches across

All three sizes are constructed using 3/4" high-strength HDPE tubing selected for durability and its ability to beautifully diffuse the light from the LEDs inside the hoop.

Bigger Hoop = Slower Flow

As a general rule:

Larger Hoop → Slower Rotation → More Time to React

Smaller Hoop → Faster Rotation → Faster, More Responsive Flow

That's why we typically recommend moving toward a larger diameter if you're just getting started and a smaller diameter if you're comfortable hooping and want increased speed and maneuverability.

What makes The Hoop Shop® LED Hula Hoop different?

Is this LED hula hoop good for beginners?

Yes! The Hoop Shop LED Hula Hoop is great for beginners and experienced hoopers alike. If you're just getting started, a larger diameter generally gives you a little more time to react and can make learning easier.

What size LED hoop should I choose?

We offer three sizes:

• 32" — Faster and more responsive; great for tricks and experienced hoopers.
• 34" — Our versatile all-around size for flow, dance, and tricks.
• 36" — Slower and more forgiving; a great choice for beginners.

What colors does the hoop display?

The LEDs automatically cycle through 7 vibrant colors, creating colorful strobing and flowing effects while you hoop.

Do I have to program the light patterns?

Nope! There are no apps, remotes, or complicated settings to learn. The LEDs automatically cycle through colors and patterns so you can focus on your flow.

Is the battery rechargeable?

Yes. Your LED hoop uses a rechargeable lithium battery, so there's no need to keep buying disposable AA batteries.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

Yes! Your hoop includes a rechargeable battery and compatible charger, so you'll have what you need to get glowing.

How long does the battery take to charge?

A fully depleted THS 700 mAh battery typically takes approximately 2–3 hours to recharge.

For festivals, performances, and longer sessions, we recommend bringing an extra charged battery.

Can I buy an extra battery?

Absolutely. The Hoop Shop® replacement rechargeable batteries are available separately and are perfect for keeping the lights going during long nights, festivals, and performances.

What is the hoop made from?

Our LED hoops are made with durable 3/4" HDPE tubing, a popular material for flow hoops because of its combination of strength, flexibility, and control.

HDPE also helps beautifully diffuse the LEDs inside the hoop.

Does the hoop have extra grip?

Yes. The inside of the tubing is lightly cross-sanded to provide additional grip without covering the hoop in grip tape.

We also include The Hoop Shop GripStik™ hoop wax, so you can easily add more grip wherever you want it.

Is the hoop collapsible for travel?

Yes! A single push-button connection allows the hoop to open and partially coil down, making it much easier to store and transport.

It's one continuous hoop—no pile of separate sections to assemble.

Will I feel a big connector while hooping?

The single-seam connection is designed to keep the hoop's circle smooth and streamlined without the bulky connector sections found on some collapsible LED hoops.

That means fewer distractions and a more natural feel while you flow.

Is the LED hoop durable?

Yes. It's built for actual hooping, not just for looking pretty in the dark.

We use high-strength HDPE tubing and protective construction to help safeguard the electronics inside. Normal drops happen, but because every LED hoop contains electronics, we recommend avoiding repeated hard impacts on concrete or other unforgiving surfaces.

Can I use my LED hoop outside?

Absolutely. In fact, nighttime outdoor hooping is where LEDs really shine!

Just remember that your hoop contains electronics. Keep it away from rain, pools, puddles, and other wet conditions, and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat or cold.

Can I use it for festivals and performances?

Definitely! LED hoops are perfect for festivals, flow arts, dance, concerts, parties, camping, performances, photography, and nighttime fun.

If you're attending a festival or venue, always check its rules before bringing your hoop.

Can I travel with my hoop?

Yes. The push-button connection lets you partially coil the hoop for easier transportation.

If you're flying, rechargeable lithium batteries are subject to airline regulations, so check your airline's current battery requirements before packing.

We want you to love your hoop for a long time. Every The Hoop Shop hula hoop is backed by our 1-Year Limited Warranty, so if something goes wrong because of a defect in materials or workmanship, we're here to help.

1-year limited warranty

The Hoop Shop warrants our hula hoops against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the original date of purchase.

If your hoop experiences a covered issue during the warranty period, contact us and we'll work with you to make it right. Depending on the issue, we may repair your hoop, provide replacement parts, or replace the product at our discretion.

what's covered

Our 1-Year Limited Warranty covers defects that occur during normal, intended use, including:

• Defects in materials or workmanship
• LED or electronic component failures
• Manufacturing defects affecting the function of your hoop
• Other product failures determined by The Hoop Shop to be the result of a manufacturing defect

what's not covered

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, improper care, or circumstances outside of the product's intended use.

This includes cosmetic wear, scratches, dents, damage caused by impacts or improper storage, water or moisture damage, unauthorized modifications or repairs, lost products or components, and damage resulting from using the hoop in a way it was not designed to be used.

Batteries and other components that naturally wear over time may also be excluded from coverage when the issue is the result of normal use rather than a manufacturing defect.

A Few Important Details

Warranty coverage begins on the original purchase date and applies to the original purchaser. Proof of purchase may be required.

Replacement products or parts provided under warranty do not restart the original warranty period and remain covered for the remainder of the original warranty period, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

The Hoop Shop reserves the right to determine whether a product issue qualifies for warranty coverage after reviewing the circumstances and condition of the product.
